Key LinkedIn Changes That You Can’t Afford To Miss

Does your recruitment agency have a LinkedIn Company page? If so, you need to read this blog or risk not being ready for key LinkedIn changes due to roll out anytime now.

It’s long overdue but LinkedIn has finally started to make a number of changes to its desktop platform, this includes a new news feed and company page layout/design.

As a recruitment agency, LinkedIn is obviously one of the main branding channels, so it’s important to make a few key changes prior to the new roll out so your brand doesn’t get caught out.

First, this is what the new Company Page will look like to LinkedIn users:

Right now, the only thing you really need to worry about updating is your main banner image. The current dimensions are 626 pixels wide by 220 pixels high and it is presented like this:

The new dimensions are 1536 pixels wide by 768 pixels high but because of how it is presented you’re going to need to be a little more clever with how you create your image.

Here are the new dimensions and a couple of pointers to help you with creating a new banner, ready for the update:

–          For photographs we recommend ensuring that it has a resolution of at least 200dpi

–          The top of the area where your profile image and title is displayed, will overlap the banner image.

–          Total image size : 1536 x 768

–          Desktop View : 1536 x 474

–          Area that will be covered by information box in desktop view : 906 x 54

There are a couple of things to avoid when creating your banner image.

Uploading an image that is too small or a low resolution will cause it to be blurry and illegible;

Making your logo or featured image too large will cause it to be blocked out by the information box;

Here is an example of a perfectly made banner;

Good luck, if you need a hand creating a new company page banner please feel free to get in touch with our team. We’ve got three great designers who’d be happy to help you out.

Whilst we’re at it, has anyone else noticed that on a free account, you can now no longer view who’s viewed your profile and that search is becoming increasingly limited on free and Premium accounts? Watch this space for more on a rumour that recruiter’s best friend, Advanced Search, will soon disappear from some accounts.

Conversion Rate Optimisation

It’s the most important element in a successful campaign and the old saying ‘you snooze, you lose’ is very apt and it’s where most fail. Using the analytics data we continue to test and refine the campaigns to increase conversation rates and therefore the results for your recruitment business.

Phone Call Tracking

A large percentage of both Display and SEM generates phone calls to your recruitment business or individual recruiters. Because of this, usually this is where the ability to track return on investment ceases. However on all of our campaigns we enable a proprietary piece of technology that tracks and records each phone call. Not only can we now track the success of each call, we can give you access to the call recording platform to use the calls as training and service improvement tools.

Customised Landing Pages

A digital advertising campaign without a landing page is a bit like a candidate with an unexplained gap in their CV. There is a chance it will be ok, but also a big risk that it won’t. We use our own landing page tool to create customisable experiences that are centered on generating outcomes. They also allow us carry out conversion rate optimisation (CRO), to increase Google Quality Scores and to split (A/B) test different concepts.
